Pamela Montague was born in Southern Delaware to a family that embraced the arts. This enabled her to discover her very own love for the arts. Many childhood years were spent in and around the surf.
Throughout her life, a camera was always in her hands. After high school, Pamela attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia. One lucky day in 2003, she opened her own gallery, Lightspun Gallery in downtown Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. During this time, the sky was the limit. She exhibited fine art, black & white florals, and handcolored floral and landscape images. Lightspun Gallery also represented many well known local and regional artists and photographers.
Her black and white collections have been on exhibit in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Many commissioned pieces are in numerous states within the United States. Two particular images, Sugared Magnolia and Unfolding were juried into numerous East Coast exhibits including the Washington Gallery of Photography in Bethesda, MD and The Robeson Gallery at Penn State University. The sepia toned image, Gordons Pond, was juried into the premiere exhibit, "BiggsShot" at the Biggs Museum of American Art and received an honorable mention. Pamela was a recipient of a Delaware Division of Arts Opportunity Grant that enabled her to participate in an invitational traveling exhibit entitled "Treasures of the Land; Delaware Barns and Outbuildings", alongside 13 emerging and professional artists.
During the Winter of 2004, Montague released a line of eco-conscious, custom designed stationery, A Sandy Soiree, to the bridal market. The stationery was very popular for beach and destination weddings. Utilizing all recycled upscale papers, fibers, and natural sparkling sand. Sand was the perfect design element and was her signature in all designs.

Another Chapter

In 2006, many things changed and evolved. The gallery location closed as Rehoboth's retail landscape began to change and the property was sold to make way for refrigerated trash units... ewww.
So, no sense fighting fate, and changing times and landscapes. It was time to shift gears, regroup, and move along in a new direction. It was a good time for a little reinvention, growth, and a new life-changing responsibility who turned out to be her greatest joy.
Priorities change, as does life.
After returning to college and completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science from Wilmington University, Pamela chose to work with adults with intellectual disabilities.
Raising her son, Clayton, who also shoots photography has been the most gratifying job in the world. Clayton's choice of photography is motorsports and upon graduation in 2025, he will launch and continue to follow his passions. Pamela loves to continue spending much of her free time on the beach and tries to shoot new images as often as she can.
While staying true to the Gemini fashion (how about another-just one more creative outlet?), Pamela launched another new and exciting hustle- oyster shell designs!. Mirrors, lamps, trinket trays, ornaments, and paintings.. And it's turning out to be pretty shuckin' awesome. Visit her pages on Instagram and Facebook. Shuckin' Awesome Designs.
